+As the second born of a household second in line to inherit headship over the family, Tim was raised to know that his responsibility to the Del'Amore house would always be one of support, rather than control. Or at least, that was the intention of those invested in the success of the main branch. Tim's father, however, thought control and support were not necessarily contrary objectives. He wanted Tim to be such an invaluable support to the main family, that they would become dependent on him, giving him leverage over the family's future. Tim was instructed in various fields to see what he had talent for. It was immediately clear that anything that relied on having more charisma than a wood block, or more strength than wet paper, was a poor fit. Tim found moderate success in the study of magic, but it was immediately clear that his true calling was in the management of coin. This was a delight to Tim's father, who knew that controlling the purse of a family was as effective a means of control as any.
+To his father's disappointment, Tim found fulfillment in the accounting itself, and couldn't care less about succession or control. He enjoyed the math, the optimizations, and the challenges that came with managing revenue and expense. In accounting, perfection felt attainable, and the potential for growth felt limitless. His only frustration was that the work day seemed too short to complete his work to his satisfaction. He started directing his magic studies toward the manipulation of time, in the hope that he would no longer be a prisoner of the 24 hour day.
