Zarn Kuo is the largest Tortle in the Kuo Tribe. For them his size means nothing, because all members of the Kuo tribe are wizards. Despite this, his size played a role in his decision to follow the School of Abjuration. Growing up there were many times where his size gave him an advantage over the other young Tortles when they played games. But most importantly it gave him the ability to protect things that he liked, even though he hadn't learned magic yet. This desire to protect and preserve would show itself in what magic he would choose to study. As he got older, his comrades began studying fire, teleportation, seeing into the future, and other wonderous and powerful magics. Zarn wanted to protect. Through his trials and training he discovered a deep love for the world around him, and the beauty it was capable of producing. Through more trials and training he discovered the terrible and monstrous things it can be capable of, but these things, like the beautiful ones, should be held with equal respect. The world that produced him and his tribe to observe these things should be respected for all its gifts. Through his mediations he discovered his desire to protect the world from those who would see it changed or destroyed.
