Blind Night

When the phases of the moons Nila and Lusin are in alignment and both moons are new, it is said that not a single god is able to perceive what is happening in the realm.

It is a long held belief that during this time, without the gods' attention to hide from, creatures and beings of all types are able to creep into the world to cause havoc and misery. As a result people in centuries past began the tradition of staying up from dusk until dawn keeping vigil to try and ward off the evils lurking in the dark.

Over the years, however, that custom has shifted and while staying up until the first rays of light is still a staple tradition of Blind Nights the intent has changed over the years. The aim of modern Blind Nights is, instead, to party like the gods aren't looking and to fill the dark hours with as much drinking, music and revelry as possible.

That's not to say that there isn't still danger to be found in those dark nights, and those foolish enough to leave the warmth and safety of a party before the sun has risen rarely are seen again.
